When Farrell Magnusson asked me if I would be willing to write a testimonial as to how she handled the sale of the house that my son and I co-own, I agreed immediately. Then I thought I don’t know Farrell all that well. Am I the right person to write a testimonial?

That’s when the light bulb shone brightly! Do any of us really want to become bosom buddies with our realtor? What we want is knowledgeable and courteous service provided in a timely manner – and that is exactly what my son and I received from Farrell.

I first met Farrell on 28 Feb/09 when I went up to Shawnigan to put my son’s house up for sale. She explained why she thought our house would sell at the price she suggested (she priced it among many houses in the area that were either for sale or had sold recently) and then talked about likely buyers, even though our house was not yet listed. Farrell displayed a fantastic knowledge of both the formal and informal selling and buying networks.

My son’s house was listed for sale on 1 March. He received an offer on 4 March (from someone who Farrell thought might be interested), and after a counter-offer and a renewed offer, both seller and buyer agreed on price the next day. A satisfactory house inspection took place on 6 March, and financing was approved the following week.

On 1 April, exactly one month after Farrell put my son’s house on the market, the buyer will take possession. You can’t get a neater deal than that – and the credit goes to Farrell Magnusson! She was worth every penny of her commission.
